Curtin University’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management is an esteemed 4-year honours programme offered at both Perth and Malaysia campuses. This honours degree programme focuses on two major disciplines, namely, construction management and quantity surveying. Students who enrol on this course will have opportunities to dive into a diverse curriculum that covers construction technology, quantities measurement, cost planning and estimating, project planning and management, strategic and financial management, contract administration, building/construction law, cost management, information technology in construction, professional practices, professional communication and interpersonal skills.

 

In line with the evolving industry demands, the 2023 new course structure has embedded digitalization elements to ensure our graduates remain at the forefront of their profession throughout their careers. This revised new course structure now includes a specialization in Quantity Surveying, offering students the opportunity to focus their studies on this specialized field within the built environment. This specialization aligns with industry demands and ensures that students acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to excel in Quantity Surveying roles within the construction industry.

 

Our students are guided by a dedicated team of seasoned and full-time professionals, well-versed in construction-related disciplines. We are committed to providing a well-rounded education by extending the learning activities to construction site visits and national/international study trips. In addition, we strongly encouraged students to gain hands-on industry experience through an industrial training programme before earning their degree. It is worth noting that our programme is accredited by the Malaysian Quality Agency (MQA) and the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM), ensuring its recognition and value in the field.

Project management is a distinct professional discipline, characterized by its unique body of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques. It entails overseeing and managing a project from its inception to successful completion, meeting all defined project objectives. The course equips students with understanding, knowledge and skills essential for being a competent project manager. Our programme adopts a generic approach to project management and is applicable across various project-based industries such as construction, engineering, education, health, commerce, marketing and public relations, events planning, resources, information technology, law, research and development.
