Dr. Marcelo Awarded Prestigious Grant for Kayan Language Preservation (ELF Award) !
Dr. Marcelo from Media & Communication Department and his colleagues, Dr. Roselind Wan, Dr. Foad Motalebi, have been awarded a prestigious grant from the Endangered Language Fund (ELF) to develop an Ethnographic Online Dictionary for the Kayan language. This language, spoken by the Indigenous Kayan community in Sarawak, is recognized as a threatened language by Ethnologue.
Dr. Dhanashree to Attend Prestigious Program in Perth, September 1-6, 2024 !
Our colleague, Dr. Dhanashree, has been selected to attend the prestigious Curtin Ignition 2024 Program on a full program scholarship. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the dedication and talent present within FOHHS faculty. Dhanashree’s proposal was chosen for this highly competitive program, which is scheduled to be held between 1-6 September in Perth.
